Description
Selected pages from programme for Out of Order by Ray Cooney, presented by Swallow Productions.
What's the story?
Out of Order is a 1990 farce based around the adulterous activities of junior minister in the UK government. The show enjoyed a successful UK tour, as well as a long London run.
Writer Ray Cooney is a specialist in farce, having honed his skills as an actor in the Whitehall farces of Brian Rix during the 50s and 60s, from which he moved into writing.
This 2000 touring production of Out Of Order starred Gorden Kaye, Trevor Bannister, Henry McGee, Colin Baker, Deborah Watling, Ruth Burton, Paul Betts, Andrea Hoban, Ben Bradshaw and Jo Winter.
As highlighted in the programme bucket collections were made at the end of each performance for Headway, a charity working with those who suffered from brain injury.
This was an important charity for Gorden Kaye, who had suffered severe head injuries in a car accident in 1990, requiring emergency brain surgery.
