What's the story?
Out of Order is a 1990 farce based around the adulterous activities of junior minister in the UK government. The show enjoyed a successful UK tour, as well as a long London run.
Writer Ray Cooney is a specialist in farce, having honed his skills as an actor in the Whitehall farces of Brian Rix during the 50s and 60s, from which he moved into writing.
In 1983 Cooney created the Theatre of Comedy Company, which produced several plays including Out of Order and Run For Your Wife, another Cooney farce.
Out of Order starred popular actors Donald Sinden and Michael Williams, with Wanda Ventham, Tim Carlton, Jacqueline Clarke, Sandra Dickinson, Barrie Gosney, Michael Fenner, David Warwick and Jennifer Hill.
