What's the story?

Me and My Girl is a celebrated musical comedy by Noel Gay, made famous for its songs The Lambeth Walk and The Sun Has Got His Hat On.
The show opened at the Victoria Palace in London in December 1937, starring Lupino Lane. Its pre-West End run included the Theatre Royal Nottingham. See link below for 1937 programme.
Although initially a big hit, it only had a few minor revivals in the following years.
In 1984, it returned to the West End with a new musical book by Stephen Fry and starred Robert Lindsay and Emma Thompson. It was huge success. It ran for eight years and received two Olivier awards. It transferred to Broadway and won three Tonys.
This 1994 touring production of Me and My Girl, which had a three week run at the Theatre Royal, starred Andrew O’Connor, Rebecca Thornhill, Patsy Rowlands, Derek beard, Gary Lyons, Claire Massie, Peter Schofield and Anthony Dawes.
