First broadcast on the BBC in 1981, Postman Pat was an animated children’s TV series aimed at pre-school children.
Set in the fictional village of Greendale, episodes followed the adventures of postman Pat Clifton and his ‘black and white cat’ Jess as they deliver mail across the valley.
With its half-term dates and predominantly daytime performances, this would have been a very popular children’s show at the Theatre Royal.
