Title
Fireman Sam To The Rescue - Leaflet, 1990
Date
13 March 1990
Description
Double-sided leaflet for Fireman Sam To The Rescue, the stage adaptation of the popular pre-school TV series.
What's the story?
Having first appeared as a Welsh language TV series, Fireman Sam was broadcast on BBC TV in 1987.
With an emphasis on teaching fire safety to children, the series and its subsequent stage adaptations was set in the fictional Welsh rural village of Pontypandy.
This leaflet has been made available as a loan to the Theatre Royal for digitisation and uploading to the archive by the Wilson family in Nottingham. Their collection of Theatre Royal ephemera relates from 1980 to 2000. This was a period of regular theatre visits, inspired by their youngest son, described as “the driving force” for seeing so many shows at the venue.
Having heard an appeal for items relating to the Theatre Royal’s past, they contacted the venue to offer their important family collection.
