What's the story?
In 1985 the Royal Mail chose Pantomime as its theme for its annual Christmas stamps.
The five stamps represent various classic Panto characters including the Dame, the Genie, Dick Whittington’s cat, the Fairy Godmother and Principal Boy.
They were designed by artist Adrian George.
This special first day cover edition (no. 213 of a limited edition of 1000 first day covers) is stamped with ‘Nottingham Theatre Royal presents Aladdin’, making it a little bit more collectible for Nottingham theatre-goers.
The production of Aladdin in 1985 starred Barbara Windsor, Jimmy Cricket, Billy Dainty and Jack Haig.
