Panto Milk Bottles - 1989 & 1990

Title

Panto Milk Bottles - 1989 & 1990

Date

December 1989 & December 1990

Description

Two pint milk bottles used to advertise the Theatre Royal Pantomime - Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs in 1989 and Aladdin in 1990

What's the story?

In 2018 Theatre Royal marketing and promotion is mainly conducted digitally, particularly via social media with regular Facebook and Twitter posts. This is particularly important for the annual Pantomime.
However, in the late 80s / early 90s the Theatre Royal utilised the everyday milk bottle that was delivered to the doorstep to get its message across.
This is a perfect idea knowing that members of the family would almost certainly see this message whilst munching on their Bran Flakes or Golden Nuggets.
With morning milk deliveries now a thing of the past for many and with people glued to their mobile phones as soon as they are awake, these items not only represent part of the Theatre Royal’s marketing past, but also a glimpse into our own general societal history.
These two bottles promote Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs from 1989 starring Dana and Aladdin from 1990 starring Frank Bruno.
