What's the story?
Oklahoma! is the first musical written by the team of composer Richard Rodgers and librettist Oscar Hammerstein II.
Based on Lynn Riggs' 1931 play, Green Grow the Lilacs, Oklahoma! opened on Broadway in March 1943 and ran for an unprecedented 2,212 performances.
The musical premiered in London at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane in April 1947.
This 1953 production by the Theatre Guild of New York was part of a 10th anniversary revival of the show and featured Jennie Gregson, Ray Buckingham, Barbara Ann Rodgers and Jack Rainer.
The 1953 leaflet design is based on the original Broadway poster design from 1943.
