What's the story?
Written specifically for the actor Margaret Lockwood, Spider's Web by Agatha Christie premiered in London’s West End in 1954 and is Christie's second most successful play with 744 performances. It is obviously surpassed by her record-breaking The Mousetrap, which has run continuously since opening in the West End in 1952.
This 1985 revival starred Pat Phoenix and her partner Anthony Booth.
The production was directed by Colin McIntyre, who from the following year in 1986 produced the annual summer thriller season at the Theatre Royal until his death in 2011.
