Double-sided leaflet and show ticket for Dangerous to Know, adapted for the stage from the Barbara Taylor Bradford novel by Hugh Janes.
What's the story?
Dangerous to Know is a 1995 novel by best-selling American novelist Barbara Taylor Bradford. Her first novel A Woman of Substance, written in 1979, has sold over 30 million copies worldwide.
This adaptation was the first time a Taylor Bradford novel had been adapted for the stage. The production starred Rula Lenska, Michael Praed, Peter Byrne and Lana Morris.
There is a Nottingham connection with the title, as it refers to Lady Caroline Lamb’s alleged 1812 quote of “mad, bad and dangerous to know” about Lord Byron, with whom she was conducting an affair.
Newstead Abbey on the outskirts of Nottingham is the ancestral home of Lord Byron.
