The plays deals with British parliamentary sleaze and sexual shenanigans and with typical Stoppardian sleight of hand and clever word play, New-Found-Land actually interrupts the performance of Dirty Linen.
This 1980 touring production was produced by Bill Kenwright and starred Derren Nesbitt and Carol Cleveland, famous for her TV work with Monty Python’s Flying Circus.
The full name of her character in Dirty Linen is in fact Maddie Gotobed.
