Date

Description
Postcard published by John Hinde Ltd. depicting Nottingham Tram outside the Theatre Royal.
What's the story?
After many years of planning and work, in March 2004 the £200 million Nottingham Express Transit tram system was finally up and running. Running from Nottingham to Hucknall, the new tram ran directly parallel to the side of the Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall along Goldsmith Street. There was now even a Royal Centre tram stop just a few metres from Stage Door.
This postcard shows a tram heading to Nottingham Rail Station.
The Powergen energy marketing campaign on the side of the tram, featuring actor and comedian Simon Day, dates from 2003, however it is hard to give a truly accurate date to this image.
