Page listing from Theatre Royal brochure for March to May 2015 for The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde.
What's the story?
David Suchet is one of the UK’s finest stage and TV actors; however, it is his TV role as Agatha Christie’s Hercule Poirot that he is most associated.
In this revival of Wilde’s classic comedy Suchet surprisingly played the iconic role of Lady Bracknell.
This was a significant production for the Theatre Royal, as it was a major show during the venue’s 150th anniversary year and was the first venue at the start of a short tour before the show went into London’s West End at the Vaudeville Theatre.
“As Lady Bracknell, Suchet does not so much enter a room as occupy it totally” Michael Billington in The Guardian, 1 July 2015.
