Title
The World of Pantomime - Education Resource Pack, 2004
Date
December 2004
Description
Sixteen page Pantomime Education Resource Pack, produced for schools by Theatre Royal Education department.
What's the story?
With funding support from Arts & Business and the Victoria Shopping Centre in Nottingham, in 2004 the Theatre Royal’s Education Department produced this sixteen-page, colour, education resource pack detailing the history and traditions of Panto.
It was sent free of charge to all schools who attended the 2004 Panto of Dick Whittington, as well as some subsequent Pantos.
This pack was created as a direct response from schools, who wanted their children to understand more about the show they were seeing and many elements of the pack were formulated through working with children from Huntingdon Primary School in St Ann’s.
Contents of the pack include:
A brief history of Pantomime
Commedia dell-arte
How to make to your own commedia mask
Interviews with Colin Baker, Ian McCarthy and Jonathan Saville to explore the performance, technical and marketing aspects of Panto
Exploring the original fairy stories behind Panto
Stock Panto characters
Panto drama games
Design your own Panto poster
