Description
Programme for the Royal National Theatre production of Death Of A Salesman
What's the story?
Although the play is not set during the Depression, the effects of the 1929 Stock Market crash are evident throughout. Arthur Miller's play, widely regarded as his finest work, tells the story of a salesman in his 60s, who reflects on why he failed in business in a country described as "the greatest country on earth".
This 1997 National Theatre revival included Alun Armstrong, Mark Strong, Louise Jameson, Ed Bishop, Martin McDougall and Shane Rimmer.
