What's the story?
This framed poster was in fact discovered by the Theatre Royal cleaning staff in July 2017 at the back of the ice-cream store.
Further research by our heritage volunteers showed that the illustrations on the poster were by artist and writer Maurice Sendak, famous for Where the Wild Things Are.
He also designed this production of The Love for Three Oranges for Glyndebourne Festival Opera.
