Glyndebourne Touring Opera - Souvenir Brochure, 1969
Date
14 April 1969
Description
Souvenir brochure for a week of performances presented by Glyndebourne Touring Opera at the Theatre Royal in 1969.
What's the story?
Glyndebourne Touring Opera was established in 1968 in order to tour productions from the main Glyndebourne Festival in East Sussex, as well as providing up and coming opera singers with the opportunity to develop their craft.
For this week of performances, the company presented two performances each of Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin, Mozart’s Die Entfuhrung Aus Dem Serail and Verdi’s Macbeth.
These performances were presented in partnership with the Northern Sinfonia Orchestra.
As well as a large array of advertisements, this souvenir brochure presents a good potted history of Glyndebourne Opera, as well as pictures of principal artists, conductors, producers and designers.
