What's the story?
Based on the source material of the 1939 novel Goodbye to Berlin by Christopher Isherwood and its 1951 stage adaptation I Am A Camera by John Van Druten, Kander & Ebb’s 1966 musical Cabaret is set in the decadent Kit Kat Club in Berlin in 1930, with the ominous backdrop of the rise of Nazi Germany.
This celebrated 1986 revival was directed and choreographed by Gillian Lynne and starred Wayne Sleep as the M.C., with Kelly Hunter, Oscar Quitak, Peter Land, Rodney Cottam, Grazina Frame and Vivienne Martin.
