Description
Double-sided leaflet for thriller Underground by Michael Sloan
What's the story?
Underground is set on a stuck London underground train, with twelve trapped people, little air, electrical problems and a murderer on board.
The play was first produced at the Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto and following this UK tour, opened at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London in July 1983.
Much of the equipment for the sets were loaned to the production by London Underground, which included all the carriage seats and guard uniforms.
The production starred American actor Raymond Burr, famous for Perry Mason and Ironside on TV
It was his casting in the play that also enabled other notable British actors to join the show, including Alfred Marks, Gerald Flood, Ian Cullen, Elspeth March, Ronald Leigh-Hunt, Linda Hayden and Peter Wyngarde.
