Description
Leaflet for Dead Ringer, a new thriller by James Francis.
What's the story?
Dead Ringer was a 1983 thriller by James Francis, in fact the pseudonym for co-producer (along with Bill Kenwright) Charles Ross.
The plot revolves around the eve of a British general election, when the Prime Minister suddenly dies, but is replaced by his party for an actor who is a ‘dead ringer’ for the now dead PM. From this far-fetched premise, a mysterious thriller develops and the show enjoyed a successful West End run following this regional tour.
Dead Ringer starred William Franklyn, Sylvia Syms, Patricia Lawrence and Basil Moss.
