Description

Double-sided leaflet for comedy Noises Off by Michael Frayn.

What's the story?

Noises Off is an immensely successful comedy by Michael Frayn that first premiered in 1982.
The show became a huge hit both in the West End and on Broadway. The New York Times described it as "the most dexterously realized comedy ever about putting on a comedy. A spectacularly funny, peerless backstage farce. This dizzy, well-known romp is festival of delirium."
This intricate comedy consists of three acts and is a play within a play, as we see the technical rehearsal, a matinee show and a performance at the end of the run of a sex farce called Nothing On.
From this leaflet you can see the mock Nothing On show image and cast covered by the Noises Off details.
Cast for this show included Jane Freeman, David Roper, Giles Watling, Gerald Flood, Deborah Watling and Michael Jayes.
The show was directed by Stephen Barry, from the original direction by Michael Blakemore in 1982.
