What's the story?
David Hasselhoff is an American TV actor, singer and celebrity, having starred in Knight Rider and Baywatch, two incredibly successful TV shows that had global appeal throughout the 1980s and 90s.
His career has also included film appearances in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie and Sharknado 3; a judge for one season on Britain’s Got Talent in 2011 and famously singing his hit song Looking for Freedom on top of the Berlin Wall in 1989.
The casting of “The Hoff” as Captain Hook in Peter Pan at the Theatre Royal was a major selling-point for the venue. This was a role he had already played in Panto in Wimbledon in 2010 and Manchester in 2012.
Hasselhoff was unable to be at the Theatre Royal launch of Peter Pan on 25 June 2013. Instead there was a life-size cardboard cut-out of him for his co-stars Barney Harwood and Su Pollard to pose with, plus this 29 second promotional video.

My name is David Hasselhoff and I’m coming to the Theatre Royale (sic) in Notting – ham with Barney Harwood and the legendary Su Poll- ard.
We’re doing Peter Pan and I’m playing Captain Hook. Actually, Hoff the Hook.
It’s Hoff crazy. It’s Hoff nuts.
Don’t miss it!
Bring your grandmother! Bring your grandfather! Bring your parents!
And kids, you’re going to love this one. It’s crazy.
I’ll see you there, in Peter Pan, this Christmas at the Theatre Royale (sic)”
