Welcome ...
to the digital archive for Our Theatre Royal Nottingham a partnership project between the University of Nottingham and Horizon Digital Economy Research, with financial support from Heritage Lottery Fund.
Our aim is to bring together our research and findings from various archives, including the Theatre Royal, Nottingham Local Studies Library, Nottinghamshire Archives and private collections, to enable people to view images from the Theatre Royal's past and enjoy related stories and memories.
Rather than adopting a simple chronological approach to the Theatre Royal's history, we have chosen a storytelling route to guide you through the venue’s heritage, based on the four themes of Pantomime, Theatre During the Wars, Onstage & Backstage and Building the Theatre. By clicking on or searching for a specific image, or name, along with its various related items, we hope you will discover your own path through our history.
Why not get involved in our lively ongoing conversation about the Theatre Royal’s history by joining our special heritage facebook page.

This enormous and daunting task has only been made possible through the passion and energy of a large team of volunteers, supporters and trainers who made this heritage project possible. Therefore, enormous thanks to …
