Make Me An Offer is based on a novel by Wolf Mankowitz, which was filmed in 1954 starring Peter Finch and Adrienne Corri.
Set in the world of small-time antiques dealers, the musical by Monty Norman and David Heneker premiered at the Theatre Royal in Stratford East in October 1959.
This production is significant for being produced by The Theatre Workshop, the legendary company run by Joan Littlewood. The company achieved huge success in 1963 with their production of Oh, What A Lovely War!
