What's the story?
Eugene O'Neill wrote this play in 1941 but it was not performed on Broadway until 1956, three years after O'Neill's death, although he'd actually ordered that the play would not be performed until 25 years after his demise. Nevertheless, the play was awarded a Tony Award for Best Drama in 1956 and in 1957 O'Neill posthumously received the 1957 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for the play.
The play starred husband and wife, Timothy West and Prunella Scales.
