Title
Propeller: A Midsummer Night's Dream & the Comedy of Errors - Programme, 2014
Date
17 February 2014
Description
Selected pages from programme for Propeller productions of A Midsummer Night's Dream and A Comedy of Errors by William Shakespeare.
What's the story?
Founded in 1997 by director Edward Hall, Propeller was an all-male Shakespeare company, which defined itself as mixing “a rigorous approach to the text with a modern physical aesthetic".
This successful award-winning and popular company toured both nationally and internationally to great success, however in late 2014 Propeller lost its Arts Council funding and so was unable to continue.
For its 2014 visit to the Theatre Royal Nottingham, Propeller performed A Midsummer Night’s Dream and A Comedy of Errors in repertoire.
Both plays were directed by Edward Hall.
This programme was kindly donated to the Theatre Royal Nottingham archive by Gillian Francis, who describes herself as “a Theatre Royal groupie”.
