This image was loaned to the Theatre Royal by Diane Meadwell. Her great-grandfather was Bernard Hill, who ran the Sun Inn pub on Parliament Street as featured on the photograph.
Around 1912, Bernard was to later become the Stage Door Keeper for the Theatre Royal.
The little girl in the doorway of the Sun Inn is Edith, Bernard’s daughter and Diane’s grand-mother. Edith later worked as an usherette at the Theatre Royal.
