Description
Fold-out leaflet for Adventures in Motion Pictures production of Swan Lake.
What's the story?
Using the music of Tchaikovsky, Swan Lake was directed and choreographed by Matthew Bourne. The show premiered at Sadler's Wells in November 1995 and took the dance world by storm, mainly for replacing the traditional female corps-de-ballet with an all-male ensemble.
Matthew Bourne and his later company New Adventures are regular visitors to the Theatre Royal and always attract sell-out audiences.
As stated on their website, their company values indicate their passion to engage audiences at theatres, such as the Theatre Royal:
‘Our audiences are why we do what we do. Entertaining and engaging audiences is our passion. We proudly tour to more venues and give more performances each year than any other dance company in the UK. We strive to be widely accessible and welcoming to both our loyal and new audiences.’
