This cutting from the Nottingham Evening Post previews the forthcoming Pantomime production of Dick Whittington at the Theatre Royal.
With the headline ‘DICK WHITTINGTON NOVELTIES’ the article focuses on new producer Fred Clements, “the well-known Skegness impresario” and his introduction of speciality acts into the Pantomime, such as the Mariajanos, Henrietta Fuller’s Serpentine Dancers, upon whose white dresses are projected coloured lights, and Leonard Gautier’s Dogs.
The show will star Nottingham comedian Hal Bryan as Idle Jack, alongside Fred Gwyn as the Cook, Nancy Fraser as Dick, Wilma Vanne as Alice Fitzwarren and Tom Howell as Alderman Fitzwarren.
