Description
Victorian programme for Aladdin, the Theatre Royal Nottingham pantomime for 1886.
What's the story?
There is a strong Nottingham connection with this pantomime as it was written by George Dance, born in the city on 14 October 1857.
George attended school in Sneinton and received his first commission, when at the age of eighteen, was asked by the Manager of the Alhambra Music Hall in Nottingham, to write a short play.
He went on to write a number of typical Victorian Music Hall songs and some very successful musicals.
