Description
Full programme and flyer for Gentlemen & Players, a one-night concert show celebrating the 150th anniversary of Trent Bridge Cricket Club.
What's the story?
Trent Bridge Cricket Club is located in West Bridgford in Nottingham and is the home of Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, as well as being the host of test matches and one-day internationals.
To celebrate the sporting venue’s 150th anniversary in 1988 a special concert took place at the Theatre Royal that rounded off a year of fund-raising celebrations.
Star of this show was West Bridgford born Leslie Crowther, who was also the patron of the Trent Bridge 150 appeal.
Others appearing in the show came from both the show business and cricketing worlds and included Don Mosey, Robin Bailey, Ray Alan and Lord Charles, Frank Carson, Christopher Martin-Jenkins and Lorna Dallas.
Due to our Theatre Royal heritage work and subsequently discovering this item, this programme has now been shared with the archive team at Trent Bridge.
